Helen Gay

Helen Moore Gay passed away suddenly January 29, 2015, in Hortonville, Wisconsin.

Born July 6, 1938, in Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Lena Weatherholt.

Helen was a 1956 graduate of Marlinton High School. For many years, Helen was married to the late Dr. Robert L. Gay.

Three children were born of this marriage. One child, an infant son, Wesley Moore Gay, lived only a few days.

While Helen had lived in several places, she loved John Denver’s recording “Almost Heaven West Virginia” and considered the hills of Pocahontas County home.

Those left to mourn Helen’s passing are her children, Kevin Gay, and wife, Kathi, of Greenville, Wisconsin, and Randal Gay, of Hortonville, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Wesley, Lauren, Zachary, Joshua and Carli; a brother, Zed Weatherholt, of Marlinton; and a brother-in-law, Jack Gay, and wife, Ellie, of Buckeye.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 5, at 2 p.m. at Marlinton Presbyterian Church.
