Hazel Jackson McPeak, 96, of Marlinton, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton. Born September 26, 1929, in Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Oley W. and Hester Wilfong Jackson.
Hazel was a member of Central Union United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 40-plus years. She was a 60-plus year member of the order of the Eastern Star #97, and a member of the Extension Homemakers. Hazel was a secretary for Extension Services, worked for the USCS office, and for the First National Bank of Marlinton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Cleve B. McPeak; sister, Rebecca McLaughlin; and two brothers, Marvin Gray Jackson and Raymond Jackson.
Hazel is survived by her son, Matthew McPeak, and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Jason McPeak and Trevor McPeak, and fiancée, Kerry Watkins, all of Marlinton; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at Central Union United Methodist Church with Pastor Carmen LaRue officiating.
