This Hairy Woodpecker was spotted in a Bartow backyard recently. The Hairy Woodpecker is a small but powerful bird that forages along trunks and main branches of large trees. Their broad range reaches from Alaska to Florida. We know this little fellow is an adult male because of the red mark on the back of his head.
