Glenna McNeill

Glenna Lee Hammons McNeill, age 82, of Morganton, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born December 22, 1933, in Greenbrier County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Tilsie Stanley Hammons.

Glenna was a machine operator for many years at Southern Devices. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She loved sewing and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Louvernie Holmes and Jarldeen Hammons; and three brothers, Erman Hammons, Jerry Hammons and Saford Hammons.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl McNeill; a daughter, Nancy Murphy, and husband, Jeff, of Hudson, North Carolina; two sons, Lock McNeill, and wife, Anne, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Bradley McNeill, and wife, Betty, of Morganton, North Carolina; two sisters, Elenore Coe, of Summersville, and Wanda Hunt, of Johnstown, Ohio; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a special friend, Don Horton; and many relatives.

A Celebration of Life was held April 15 at Bible Baptist Church with Preacher Ricky Watkins officiating. Interment was in Burke Memorial Park.
