Gary Wayne McKenney, 73, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

Born July 18, 1950, in Marlinton, he was a son of the late Nellie McKenney and Leslie Lambert.

Gary was a bus driver for Pocahontas County Schools and owner/operator of a plumbing and heating business in Marlinton.

He is survived by his children, Darin McKenney and Carrie Dean; granddaughter, Makenna McKenney; and a sister, Nancy Green.

In keeping with Garys wishes the body will be cremated and there will be no service.

IN APPRECIATION

Those of you who knew Gary when he was of strong health and mind, knew he was incredibly smart, caring, talented and passionate in his faith for God. For those that didn’t know him, perhaps you were a fan of the hit show “Friends” that has been in the news lately.

“What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor and more unashamed conversation.” ~ Glen Close

My heartfelt thanks to those who prayed for and were there for him during his long struggle.

“In God I Trust.” – Nancy Green
