CLASS REUNION
Green Bank High School Class of 1966 held a 10-year reunion over the Fourth of July weekend. They met at the Arbovale Community Building Saturday morning for coffee and doughnuts.
A delicious meal was served that evening at the Durbin Methodist Church for the classmates and their husbands and wives. After dinner, Don Vannoy served as master of ceremonies for some fun and frolic. He introduced two special guests, Marie and Minnie Parg, two of our former teachers.
Attending the reunion were Don Vannoy, Danny Sheets, Marie Parg, Minnie Parg, Mary Aldridge Alonzo, Nancy Workman Moore, Pat Waslo Williams, Mary Cook Prater, Beverly Taylor, Donna Greathouse Hommema, Erma Collins Hedrick, Dorothy Collins Garland, Janie Nottingham Thompson, Connie Mullenax Douglas, Henrietta Shinaberry Reigel. Nancy Waybright Keffer, Jeannie White Nelson, Charlotte Wilfong, Barbara Hill Mills, Jim Cassell and Janice Mullenax.
APPOINTED TOP ASSISTANT COACH
University of Cincinnati head basketball coach Gale Catlett announced the appointment of Gary McPherson as his top assistant coach replacing Ken Cunningham who previously had been named head coach at the University of Akron.
“We feel fortunate to be able to attract to our program a coach with the excellent credentials which Gary possesses,” commented Coach Cartlett…
McPherson is a native of Cass.
QUEEN’S COURT
Pocahontas County resident Marla Dean Chestnut has been appointed to serve in the queen’s court for the 40th Annual Mountain State Forest Festival at Elkins.
