PIONEER DAYS
In the Marlinton United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Friday, Pioneer Days will present the Greenbrier Valley Theater in GODSPELL, a musical based upon the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
BICENTENNIAL WEEK
The Bicentennial Week is going to be very full of activities in Pocahontas County starting with the Durbin Jubilee on July 3 and ending with the final events of Pioneer Days on July 11. The events include a rodeo at the fairgrounds, a Bicentennial Birthday Celebration at Marlinton, Chautauqua at Hillsboro, the Miss Pocahontas Pageant, horse show, and more.
GREEN BANK CLASS OF 1926
Members of the Green Bank High School Class of 1926 met at the Arbovale Community Center. Present were Glenn F. Tracy, Mrs. Ethel Terry, Margaret Wilson, Pauline Gribbe, Oren McLaughlin, Virginia Burner, Hope Mallow, Marie and Minnie Parg, Kathleen Wilfong. Of this group, all but one are teachers. Tracy and McLaughlin were members of the basketball team. Members unable to attend were Violet Phillips Partach, Arnold Frame, Wilson Robertson, Rella Phillips Moats, Marguerite Imes Jack, Audrey Dill McPherson, Fame Shifflett, T. F. Harwood. Deceased class members: Elizabeth Blackhurst McLaughlin, Harper Cassell, Lanty Ervin, Glenn Friel, Delma Watts, Virgil Wenger and Arnold Willhide.
BIRTHDAY
Lee Hammons, of Marlinton, celebrated his 91st birthday May 29, with a birthday dinner given at his home.
Those attending were his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hammons, and son, Wilbur; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hammons and son, Trampas; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hammons; Mr. and Mrs. Loy Burgess and children, Wayne, Sherri and Connie; Mrs. Ray Friel and children, Cleva, Danny, Lora and Ronnie, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Burgess and daughter, Darlene; Mrs. Freddie Gravely and daughters, Tammy and Missy; Dewey and Lacy Hammons; Anna Hammons, June Underwood, Pauline Teter, Edgar Burgess, Kenny and Keith Burgess, Sherman Hammons, David Hammons, Sugar Cain, Willie and Don Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Madison, and son, Devlin; Margy Ruffing, Bud Heakler, Jim Monk and Rick Brown.
May 29 is also the birthday of his granddaughter, Cleva Friel, and the anniversary of his granddaughter, Daisy Madison.
WEDDING
Ramona N. Chappell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Chappell, of Hillsboro, and Phillip E. Anderson, son of Melvin C. Anderson, of Marlinton, and the late Joy G. Anderson, were united in marriage at Twelve Noon April 12, 1976. The double ring ceremony was performed in the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro by the Reverend J. D. Arbuckle.

DEATHS
Larry Goldizen, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sampson Gold-izen, of Marlinton, died Sunday, in Germany, the result of an automobile accident. He was stationed there with the U. S. Army. The family is awaiting further details.
