Pocahontas County High School FFA chapter will send members to the 91st National FFA Convention and Expo to compete in the Equine Evaluation Event.

The convention will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 24 through 27.

The PCHS chapter will be represented by Ben Davis, Noah Barkley, Charity Morrison and Adrienna Fuery. They will be accompanied by Susan Davis and FFA advisor Erwin Berry.

The team will compete for national recognition by demonstrating their ability to reason and communicate about equine science. They will compete in a team problem-solving activity and individual evaluation classes composed of performance and halter horses. They then justify their selections through oral reasoning.

This event is one of 25 career development events (CDEs), covering job skills from communications to mechanics. CDEs help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly and perform effectively in a competitive job market.

The PCHS team has spent an enormous amount of time practicing and is well-prepared for the competition.

Good luck to our team as they represent Pocahontas County at the National FFA Convention.
