Have you been to the Pocahontas County Farmer’s Market this season?
The markets are open – rain or shine – and we have three great locations throughout the county. Green Bank Market, in the parking lot of Henry’s Quick Stop, Wednesdays, 3 to 6 p.m.; Linwood Market, in the parking lot of the Linwood Library at the base of Snowshoe Mountain, every Friday, 3:30 to 6 p.m.; and the Marlinton Market, near the First Avenue Mini Park, Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon.
This week at the market we will have a variety of squash, green bell peppers, Hungarian hot wax peppers, banana peppers, cucumbers, baby potatoes, zucchini, green onions, garlic, cilantro, basil, rosemary, sage, thyme, parsley, oregano, dill, green beans, tomatoes, rainbow chard, cabbage, broccoli, peaches, black raspberries, strawberries and so much more. You never know what you will find! We love hearing about what you do with your produce and berries. Share your experiences and recipes at the next market!
We also have fresh seafood, mussels, scallops, crab meat, shrimp, salmon, meats, local chicken, beef, eggs, lard, molasses, honey, vanilla extracts, maple syrup, jams, jellies, freshly ground flours, a huge variety of baked goods, artisan breads, pepperoni rolls, specialty cookies, granola, beeswax products, flowers, unique fabrics, quilts, potato bakers, sewing accessories, purses, specialty yarns, hand-knitted apparel, nature paintings, colorful tie dyes, soaps, jewelry and much more.
Stop by any of our three locations and pick up a keychain, PCFM cookbook, tote and T-shirt. All proceeds from those items support the Farmer’s Market.
Calling all farmers, growing enthusiasts, crafters and bakers! We want you to be a part of the Pocahontas County Farmer’s Market family. You can get involved with the market at any time throughout the season. Just visit any of our three locations for more information.
The Farmer’s Market is looking for local musicians. If you or someone you know would be interested in playing at the market please stop by the Market Manager’s table for more information.
