Evelyn McQuain

Evelyn Campbell McQuain, age 90, of Dunmore, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born November 10, 1924, at Dunmore, she was a daughter of the late Ernest L. and Elizabeth Hiner Campbell.

Evelyn was a nurse at Denmar, for Dr. Browning and at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. She was a farmer’s wife and a member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Hunter McQuain in 2001; two sons, Kenneth Marshall McQuain in 2001, and Wayne Daniel McQuain in 2004; and siblings, Pauline Hite, Mary Buchanan, William Campbell and Wanda James.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann McQuain, of Staunton, Virginia; a brother, L.E. Campbell, of Baltimore, Maryland; three grandchildren, Kevin Daniel McQuain, and wife, Jamie, Tiffany D. Walton, and husband, Eric, and Edward Lee Deaver, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Dylan McQuain, Alexander Daniel Walton, Madison Brook Walton and Tucker Lee Deaver; two best friends, David and Susan Sharp; a precious niece, Sassy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was March 7 at the Dunmore United Methodist Church with Pastor David Fuller officiating. Keeping with her wishes, the body will be cremated and burial will be beside her husband on the farm.

Memorials may be made to the Dunmore United Methodist Church or the Pocahontas County Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels Program.
