Elsie Vandevender

Elsie Vandevender, age 62, of Green Bank, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.

Born October 11, 1951, at Staunton, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Norlie Orion Wilfong and Hazel Frances Hise Shifflett.

Elise was a member of Kerr Chapel and was a cook at the National Youth Science Camp at Thornwood.

She is survived by her husband, Dallas Eugene Vandevender, of Green Bank; step-father, James Shifflett, of Frank; a daughter, Misty Lynn Vandevender Teter, and husband, Jeremy, of Elkins; a son, Dallas Orion Vandevender, of Green Bank; and a sister, Debbie Lee Warner, of Green Bank.

Funeral service was June 16 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Rev. William Vandevender officiating. Interment was in the Vandevender Cemetery in Thornwood.
