Elsie Lipscomb

Elsie Maye Lipscomb, age 84, of Durbin, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.

Born October 4, 1931, in Tucker County, she was a daughter of the late Eyria Randall and Grace May Halterman Murphy.

Elsie retired from Home Health Care at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Phillip Lipscomb; and two brothers, Eyria Phillip Murphy, in 1980, and William Roy Murphy in 1993.

Elsie is survived by many loved ones, including a daughter, Elsie “Louise” Stoats, and husband, Wayne, of Columbus, Ohio; sons, Larry Pennington, and wife, Sandy, of Tucker County, Charles Pennington, and wife, Faye, of Pomeroy, Ohio, Robert Price Lipscomb, and wife, Michelle, of Back Mountain, and George “Daniel” Lipscomb, of Keyser; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Murphy, and wife, Diane, of Tennessee, and Randy Murphy, of Baltimore, Maryland.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 4 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Pastor Walter Cardenas officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service.
