David Hamed

David Michael Hamed, age 68, of Dearborn, Michigan, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015, following a prolonged illness.

Born January 28, 1947, he was a son of Jane Sheets Hamed “Nurse Jane,” of Green Bank, and the late Julian M. Hamed.

David was an avid outdoorsman with keen interests in hunting, fishing, golf and flying. He was an accomplished airplane pilot with more than 800 hours flying and was certified as an instructor pilot and was a commercial pilot.

He was also an accomplished scholar with degrees in Engineering and Business from West Virginia University and the University of Michigan. He also enjoyed literature and the arts.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Hamed.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved and caring longtime companion, Remy Talania; a brother, Joe Hamed; a son, Mike McDuffie, of Charlotte, North Carolina; a daughter, Marissa Paquette, of Boston, Massachusetts; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was held December 9 at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, Huron Township, Michigan.
