Daniel McGee

Daniel “Magoo” William McGee, 68, of Lost City, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his residence.

Born January 26, 1953, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Leo G. McGee and Agnes C. Hagan McGee.

Danny loved the outdoors, especially hunting and camping.  He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for more than 40 years, earning him the nickname, “Earthmover.”  He was a mentor to many and a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas L. McGee.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Head McGee; sons, Scott W. McGee and Daniel William McGee, II, both of Marlinton; a step-son, Lee Sams, Jr., of Berryville; step-daughter, Lisa Palmer, of Beckley; brother, Leo B. McGee, of Marlinton; sister, Jean Ann Cappello, of Findlay, Ohio; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 1 p.m. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel in Baker with Pastor Lucy Webster officiating.  Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery in Wardensville.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home in Baker.
