The following hearings were recently held in Pocahontas County Circuit Court before the Honorable Judges Robert E. Richardson and Jennifer P. Dent:

Defense counsel for Skylar Tincher, 24, of Buckeye, advised the court that there is no objection to the admissibility of videos taken during the defendant’s statement and interview for the hearing.

Patrick Butler, II, 37, of Slaty Fork, tendered a written plea agreement to the court wherein he pleaded guilty to Count II of the indictment, domestic battery, a misdemeanor. The state asked for dismissal of Count I of the indictment, strangulation. Butler asked to be sentenced that day and waived his right to a pre-sentence investigation report. He was sentenced to 12 months in the regional jail with credit for time served of 258 days. He was fined $500, plus court costs and fines. Butler was to self-report the following day to serve the balance of his sentence.

Frances Darlene Fisher, 29, of Marlinton, tendered a written plea agreement to the court wherein she pleaded guilty to the felony offense of grand larceny and asked for deferred adjudication. Fisher was placed on deferred adjudication for one year under the supervision of the probation department. Court costs were assessed and are to be paid during the deferment.
