Chris McPherson

Chris Dan “Little Mac” McPherson, age 56, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at his home.

Born September 6, 1960, at South Boston, Virginia, he was a son of Gary Dan and Peggy Lou Sheets McPherson.

Chris was a graduate of West Virginia University and a member of the Phi Kappa PSI fraternity at WVU. He had worked for many years at Mylan. He was a member of Suncrest United Metho-dist Church, WVU Varsity Club and manager of the WVU Basketball team.

He enjoyed hunting and surf fishing at Outer Banks, North Carolina. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his wife, Patty, and golfing buddies at Preston County Country Club.

Chris loved riding the train at Cass Scenic Railroad and had a love for the Boston Red Sox.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lyle and Audra McPherson and Clarence and Ella Sheets; and his father-in-law, Joseph Sereg.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Sereg McPherson; sister, Melissa “Missy” McPherson, of Jacksonville, Florida; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Sereg; sister-in-law, Denise Menhart, and husband, David; nephew, Joey Menhart, and fiancée, Jamie Imhoff; his loving cat, Molly; godson, Aiden Jenkins; and many special friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mohammad Almubarak (Dr. Mo) and staff, Adrianne, Joan and Halie; Dr. Monika Holbein and staff; WVU Radiation Therapy staff; WVU Infusion Center staff; Dr. Fred Gabriele, former Mylan nurse, Bobbie Neal; Dr. Roger Abraham, and wife, Linda; and Dr. Kinney at Mylan for all their care and compassion for Chris.

Family will receive friends March 22 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Suncrest United Methodist Church in Morgantown. Funeral service is March 23, 11 a.m. at Suncrest United Methodist Church with Revs. Tim Hallorn and Junius Lewis officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Preston County Country Club, Camp Dawson Road, PO Box 2020, Kingwood, WV 26537; Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506; or a charity of your choice.
