Carroll R. Lewis Barlow, age 80, of Marlinton, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, at her home, following a long battle with illness.

Born January 26, 1940, in Sophia, she was a loving daughter of the late Ott and Esta Deck Rhodes.

Carroll was a teacher and licensed social service professional, retiring from the State of West Virginia DHHR and Seneca Mental Health. Her life was one of loving her family and helping others in need.

Quilting was her passion, and her legacy will be the teaching of quilting to many students and friends. She was a member and officer of Eight-Rivers Quilting Party, formerly Pearl S. Buck, Cranberry Piecemakers and a long-time board member of Pocahontas County Senior Citizens; and many other services, too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Delbert T. Lewis and William I. Barlow; and a brother, Gary Rhodes.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynelle Carroll Lewis; a son, Randall Lewis, (Virginia); grandchildren, Drew Lewis and James Branham; and a great-grandchild, Baylee Branham.

Graveside service was held April 7 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Norman Lee Alderman officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton.
