Marlinton and Hillsboro Girl Scout troops gathered at the Marlinton Municipal Building Saturday for something sweet – a bake-off.

Girls entered cakes, cookies and pies, from classic chocolate cake and peanut butter cookies, to a unique hamburger shaped cake and Better Than Tom Selleck Cake.

After crafts and judging, the goodies were auctioned off as a fundraiser for the scout troops. The auction raised $1,440.

Winners are:

Pies: First place, Dakota Snider, German chocolate pie; second place, Chloe Hardesty, brownie peanut-y pie; and third place, Eden Smith, chocolate chip pie.

Cookies: First place, Allyson Alderman, butterscotch cookies; second place, Makenna McKenney, Almond Joy cookies; and third place, Bracie Sheets, peanut butter cookies.
