Boyd H. Wilfong, 90, of Marlinton, passed Thursday, May 25, 2023, peacefully holding the hand to the love of his life of 69 years.

Born May 17, 1933, he was a son of the late Seebert and Margie Wilfong.

Boyd served in the United States Army assigned to the Airborne Paratrooper Division, leading to his life-long 32-year career at Langley NASA, where he contributed to the space program. He was a true patriot, who demonstrated his support by daily flying the US Flag. He respected those that served in the military and frequently expressed his appreciation for their service.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Huntersville. He taught adult Sunday school and served on the Deacon Board for many years. He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He cherished his family, along with his church family. He was a craftsman in woodworking and enjoyed helping others, especially when it pertained to his involvement with Builders for Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ramirez; brothers, Michael Wolfe, Clarence Wilfong, Harry Wilfong, Willard Wilfong and Richard Wilfong; sisters, Dorothy Boggs, Eva Galford, Catherine Rimel, Genevieve Wilfong and Joan Cutlip.

He is survived by his loving wife, Erma Jane Wilfong; daughters, Beverly Granstra (Ron), and Denise Segovia; grandchildren, Cherie Wood (Bobby), Brandon Segovia (Bree), Ronald Huey, Diamond Segovia and Rudy Ramirez (Mandy); great-grandchildren, Isa-bella, Mason, Kai, Hailey, and Mia; and honorary sons, Ron Huey and David Segovia.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., with interment immediately following at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Huntersville, 5837 Hunt-000ersville Road, Marlinton, WV 24954.
