Bonnie Sharp

Bonnie Z. Sharp, age 88, of Huntersville, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

Born June 3, 1929, in Dunmore, she was a daughter of the late June Lee and Cecil McLaughlin.

Bonnie was of the Methodist faith, she attended church in Minnehaha and Huntersville. She loved cooking, taking trips to Florida, crocheting and camping at the State Fair of West Virginia.

She operated and cooked at Allegheny Lodge and spent many years operating and cooking at Watoga Restaurant, the place she held dear to her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Guy Austin Sharp, whom she married June 19, 1948; and three brothers, Jimmy McLaughlin, Jerry McLau-ghlin and Wally McLaughlin.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Zumpf, and husband, William, of Jacksonville, Florida, JoAnn Friel, of Ocala, Florida, and Lindsay Sharp, and wife, Connie, of Marlinton; three brothers, Keith McLaughlin and Sherman McLaughlin, both of Stuart, Florida, and J.D. McLaughlin, of Marlinton; two sisters, Susie Landis, of Marlinton, and Shirley Broce, of Stuart, Florida; six grandchildren, Austin Zumpf, Ansley Zumpf, Jason Friel, Janelle Fosselman, Jamie Hill and Amy Kelley; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Friel, Alesia Castagna, Addison Friel, Cameron Gilmore, Zander Fosselman, R.T. Hill and Levi Hill; and three great-great-grandchildren, Ry Friel, Alaina Castagna and Autumn Castagna.

Funeral service was held August 1 at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor David Merryman officiating. Interment was in the Browns Mountain Cemetery.
