Berdeen O’Brien

Berdeen Elizabeth O’Brien, age 87, of Cass, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at LaGrange, Kentucky.

Born September 13, 1926, at Cass, she was a daughter of the late William B. and Neva B. Tallman Simmons.

Berdeen was retired from the NRAO in Green Bank. She was a lifelong member of Cass United Methodist Church as well as Cass Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star to which she was a 50 year member. She was a dirt track race fan and was always pulling for her grandson’s #13.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo S. O’Brien; and a brother, William “Pete” Simmons.

She is survived by a son, Michael L. O’Brien, and wife, Tina, of Green Bank; a daughter, Ruth Anne Foe, and husband, Lloyd, of LaGrange, Kentucky; a grandson, Michael Allen O’Brien, of Green Bank; sisters, Betty Jo Bennett, and husband, Merle, of Neola, and Barbara Sampson, and husband, Thurman, of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister-in-law, Olive Simmons, of Cass; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Funeral service was July 12 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Pastor David Fuller officiating. Interment was in the Wanless Cemetery in Cass.
