Benjamin Raugh

Benjamin Raugh, age 68, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.

Born November 13, 1948, in Roxbury, New York, he was a son of the late Howard Raugh, Jr., and Evelyn Crane Raugh.

Ben spent his childhood in Vero Beach, Florida. He was a retired Chief in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps, VFW Post in Clewiston, Florida, and Vietnam Veterans of America Marlinton Chapter 1100.

He was an avid saltwater fisherman, hunter and golfer. He loved to garden, watch NASCAR, cut wood and work cattle with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Raugh.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Raugh, of Hillsboro; and a brother, Howard Raugh, and wife, Sunshine, of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Funeral service was held May 6 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Andrew Rice officiating. Interment was in the McNeel Cemetery in Hillsboro with Military Graveside Rites by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.

Memorials may be made to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
