
Ben Austin Gragg, 87, of Williamstown, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Clarksburg Healthcare Center.
Born July 18, 1939, in Durbin, he was a son of the late Glenn D. Gragg and Jeanne H. Gragg.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Williams-town and Masonic Lodge #124.
A graduate of Green Bank High School, Ben attended Potomac State College and was an Army veteran. A true outdoorsman, he worked for the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources for 34 years, achieving the rank of Captain prior to his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn “Blair” Gragg and nephew, Bryan L Gragg, of Durbin; and sister, Betty Jeanne Gragg Puffenbarger, of Buckhannon.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Jones Gragg; and daughter and son in law, Christy and David Stout, of Lost Creek.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Arbovale.
Graveside service will be held at Arbovale Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor David Rittenhouse and Rev. Tony Foreman officiating with rites by the Masonic Lodge #124.
