Amy Widney

Amy Danette Widney, age 43, of Hillsboro, passed away March 19, 2020, in Huntington.

Born October 2, 1976, at Morgantown, she was a daughter of Harry Douglas Widney and Linda Jean Foe Simmons.

Amy was a 1994 graduate of Pocahontas County High School where she was a cheerleader, played in the band and ran track. She was active in 4-H All Stars. After high school she attended Fairmont State College and Beckley School of Massage Therapy. She was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Dallas Widney; and maternal grandfather, Winfred Foe.

She is survived by her parents, Harry Douglas Widney, (Kaye), of Mebane, North Carolina, and Linda Jean Foe Simmons, (Eugene), of Hillsboro; maternal grandmother, Maxine Foe, of Cass; brothers, Evan Douglas Widney, (Molly), of Hillsborough, North Carolina, David Michael Simmons, (Allison), of Snow- shoe, Dustin Eugene Simmons and Nathan Daniel Simmons, both of Hillsboro; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
