Alberta Bennett

Alberta Sue Jordan Bennett, age 79, of Marlinton, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, at her home.

Born June 9, 1937, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Hiner Bea Jordan and Ada Mace.

Sue was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved gardening and lived to scratch off lottery tickets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Anderson Bennett, December 4, 2000; a daughter, Yvette “Cherokee” Wickman; four grandchildren, Tonya, Alicia, Calvin and Ayla; and a close family friend, Ralph Kramer.

She is survived by seven daughters, Avis Seldomridge and Diane Foe, both of Cass, Inez Bennett, of Parkersburg, Kimberly Finley, of Mississippi, Amber Neal, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Christy Bennett, of Indiana, and Karen Dee Barb, of Hillsboro; six sons, Randy Bennett, Eddie Bennett and Kevin Bennett, all of Marlinton, Mark Bennett, of Petersburg, John Bennett, of Dunmore, and Steven Bennett, of Cass;  a sister, Sharon Perigo, of Portland, Oregon; 50 grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her large family, Sue also opened her home and heart to many others throughout her life.

Funeral service was held February 21 at Lantz Funeral Home with Rev. David McCall officiating. Interment was in the Cochran Cemetery.
