M.H.S. Reunion
The Marlinton High School Class of 1953 held its 20-year reunion July 21, 1973. The classmates had a coffee hour at the El Poca to renew acquaintances. That evening the classmates and their spouses enjoyed a lovely banquet at the home of Mary Shafer. Prizes were awarded at this time. Traveling the greatest distance: Janet Dilley Ervine, Burlington, Iowa.

Most children: Dreama Carr Dilley
It was learned that four of our classmates have sets of twins: Regena H. Rhea, Larry Hefner, Paul Rose and Tayburn Doyle.

I haven’t forgotten that I have been asked to write about the experiences of Mrs. Bertha Galford, of Cass, in the “over 80” column.
Cecil Houchin wants me to “tell it all” about his 91 years. So time is a big factor. I will add this about Cecil: He says he is still looking for a woman but she has to be beautiful, a good cook, and one that doesn’t grunt. If interested, he lives on Back Mountain.
Information, please. What do you call snakes when there are several together?
I saw what looked like a snake for every cabbage in the garden as they made their get-away. One other time in the late fall, I went in the block cellar and there in the corner was an intertwined ball of snakes larger than a peck measure. They seemed to be ready for winter and had not moved even when I had passed by them without seeing until I looked back to admire the many jars of canned good on the shelves. After I stopped running long enough to regain my dentures, I called to David. He shot into the ball and killed three, but the others ran in every direction. We have never seen another snake there, but after 20 years, I look to the right and to the left when entering that building…
