W. C. Daugharty’s landing at Hosterman where logs are waiting to be transported to the mill. The photograph was taken by Cal Gay. Hosterman is located on the Greenbrier River 6.2 miles northeast of Cass. In 1902 the Hosterman Lumber Company constructed a mill at what was then called Collins. The operation was in bankruptcy by 1908 and finally sold to H. C. Wilmoth and Sons in October 1912. (Pocahontas County Historical Society Collection, ID: PHS003228)
