Velma Marie Walker Waddell, age 60, of Arbovale, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
Born August 18, 1953, at Blossburg, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Guyon Warren and Beatrice Mae Gleason Walker.
Velma graduated from Transylvania Bible School in Freeport, Pennsylvania, in 1976. She then taught Books of Bible and was a full-time cook for 13 years at TBS. She was involved in missionary work in Bolicia, Indonesia, and Brainard Indian School in South Dakota. She was a cook, Bible Study teacher and board member at White Pine Holiness Camp.
She married Daniel Waddell in 1989. She and Daniel were caretakers/residents of the White Pine Holiness Camp. She worked WVMR-Allegheny Mountain Radio and was a board member for many years. She also worked at the OMT Mart gas station in Durbin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband April 25, 2004.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Ella Walker; half-brothers, William E. Holley, George H. Holley and Clarence Holley; and a half-sister, Mrs. Rosa Morrow.
Funeral service was October 27 at Pine Grove Chapel with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment was in the Arbovale Cemetery Annex.
