Pocahontas County Archery team members Jersey Simmons and Makenna McKenney qualified to shoot in the National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament in Orlando, Florida.
Jersey placed fourth in Elementary Girls competition at West Virginia States, 10th place Elementary Girls at the National Tournament and seventh in Elementary Girls Saturday in the World Championship Tournament in Florida, with a score of 283.
Makenna placed sixth in Middle School Girls competition in the West Virginia State Tournament, 23rd in Middle School Girls at Nationals and 16th in the World Championship Tournament in Florida Saturday, with a score of 288.
Jersey is the daughter of Devan and Dustin Simmons, of Hillsboro.
Makenna is the daughter of Darin and Michelle McKenney, of Huntersville.
