Patricia Farmer

Patricia Kay “Trish” Farmer, age 56, of Salem, Virginia, died Saturday, July 22, at Carilion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Born September 7, 1960, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of Jacqueline Hefner Ryder, of Huntersville, and the late Baysel Ryder.

Trish retired from the Veterans Administration in Salem, Virginia, after 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Farmer Sr.; and a son, Terry Wayne May.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Truman Farmer, II, and wife, Jessica, of Vinton, Virginia; a sister, Carol Landis; a brother, Benny Ryder, and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Jonathan Farmer, Payton Farmer and Jayden Omiyo; nieces, Brandy, Jennifer, Kenlie and Alexis; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 27, 1 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby McClintic officiating. Interment will be in the Beaver Creek Cemetery in Hunters-ville. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
