We have reports on two wooly worms – both with a longer black section in front (or cold the first part of the winter season), then a lighter brown section, then a shorter black section at the back.
4-H News
The reorganization meeting of the Buckeye White Savages 4-H Club was held September 25, at the Buckeye schoolhouse. The meeting was called to order by the president George Allen Broce. We then sang West Virginia Boys and Girls, followed by the National 4-H Pledge.
New officers were elected: President – Sharon Shrader; vice-president – Patty Rimel; secretary – Libby Ann Graham; Song Leaders – Hope Rimel, Jaynell Graham and Diana Wilfong; game leaders – Mike Broce, Mary Ellen Miller and Jerry Duncan; reporter – Rose Ellen Waugh.

The Hillsboro Pep to Win 4-H Club met September 27 in the Hillsboro Vo Ag building for its reorganizational meeting.
The meeting was called to order by the president, Elizabeth McNeel. We stood and sang West Virginia Boys and girls, followed by the 4-H pledge. Kathy Beard had the devotions.
New officers were elected for the coming year. They are: President, Elizabeth McNeel; vice president, Phyllis Hill; secretary, Grace Jane Moore; treasurer, Marty Edgar; reporter, Linda Hill; song leaders, Beverly Hill, Lynn Beard; recreational leaders, Kathy Beard and Lee McLaughlin; parliamentarian, Sollie Workman.

The Edray Producers 4-H Club held its reorganizational meeting September 22. New officers were elected as follows: President – Sherry Sharp; vice president – Vivian Sharp; secretary – Brenda Shinaberry; treasurer – Saundra Phillips; reporter – Harriet Johnson; game leaders – Sam Baxter, Tiny Shinaberry; song leaders – Sally McLaughlin, Donna Jo Sharp.

William Joe Hamilton, infant son of Allen and Patricia Sharp Hamilton, of Huntersville. Burial in the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Edith Hannah Callahan, 77, of Beard; burial in the Droop Mountain Cemetery.
Nathan Parker, 73, husband of Mrs. Maggie Hammons Parker. Burial in the Cochran Cemetery.
Harold M. Betts, 37, was found dead in his car on a trail on Marlin Mountain on Saturday. Coroner Thomas W. Smith judged it a suicide with death occurring on Thursday, September 30.
Bruce Edward Underwood, four year old son of Charles E. and Nancy Underwood, of Staunton Virginia; grandson of Mary Underwood, of Marlinton.
Kenton Simmons, 84, of Staunton, Virginia; a brother of the late L. O. Simmons, of Marlinton, and uncle of J. Paul Simmons, of Marlinton.
David Fulton Shinaberry, 85, of Deerfield, Virginia, formerly of Pocahontas County. Burial in the Rocky Spring Cemetery at Deerfield.
Specialist First Class L. A. Scott was killed in an automobile accident in Germany September 19; son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Scott, of Hillsboro.
