4-H Project Exhibit Fair
The public is invited to view the 4-H project exhibits at this year’s County 4-H Project Exhibit Fair at the McClintic Library Conference Room in Marlinton Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August 7,  from noon until 6 p.m. each day.  Homemade ice cream will be served Friday afternoon.  Make plans to come and share in what the 4-H members are doing in our county.
 

 4-H Leaders Meeting
All 4-H leaders are reminded that 4-H Leaders Association will meet Friday, August 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the McClintic Library following the Project Exhibit Fair. Leaders are asked to come before 6 p.m. to view the exhibits and help pack up the exhibits from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Canning Workshop
There will be a free canning workshop at the Linwood Community Library at Snowshoe Monday, August 10, from 4 to 7:30 p.m.  Participants will learn how to can food using both a pressure canner and boiling water bath.  This hands-on workshop is open to the public, but space is limited, so interested persons should call the WVU Extension Office at 304 799-4852 immediately.  Pressure Canner Testing for canner lids with dial gauges will also be available at the workshop.  In order to have your canner tested, bring only your canner lids with dial gauges.
 
West Virginia State Fair
The West Virginia State Fair will be held August 14- through 23 at the State Fairgrounds in Lewisburg. Many Pocahontas County 4-Hers and FFA members will exhibit their projects in the Youth Building.  4-H and FFA members will also exhibit their animal projects at the livestock and horse shows.  For more information on the State Fair of West Virginia please visit www.wvstatefair.com.
 
2015 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Sale
The Pocahontas County 4-H and FFA members will hold their annual livestock show and sale Saturday, August 29.  The show will begin at noon and the sale will be held that evening at 7:30 p.m.  We encourage everyone to come out and support the local 4-H and FFA youth and the culmination of their hard work with their livestock projects.  For more information please call the WVU Extension Office at 304-799-4852.
