Wriley Doyle

Wriley Woodford Doyle, 89, of Monterville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, at his home.

Born February 12, 1931, at Slaty Fork, he was a son of the late Zannie and Genevieve Starcher Doyle.

Wriley attended a one-room schoolhouse at Valley Fork and Rough Gap, graduating from Tygart Valley High School.

He was a veteran, and worked as a coal miner, and a steelworker at Atlantic Foundry in Akron, Ohio.

He married Louise G. Copen May 25, 1957.

Wriley loved to read his Bible every day, and was a member of the Point Mt. Union Mission Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and bowling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Victor Lee Doyle; four sisters, Gaitha Riggleman, Gilda Tower, Gladys Channel and Glenda Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Copen Doyle, of Monterville; daughter, Connie S. Parson, and husband, Jack, of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tabitha, Rickie, Crystal, Angelia, Bronson; 11 great-grandchildren, all of Akron, Ohio; brother-in-law, Jimmy Copen, and wife, Elizabeth, of Monterville; sister-in-law, Linda Bickel, and husband, Dave, of Huttonsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Per his request, his body was cremated and no service was held.

Wriley received his call from Glory and his heavenly wings.

VanReenen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
