Woodrow Thompson

Woodrow L. Thompson, 79, of Spencer, Ohio, died Friday, May 28, 2021, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family.

Born in 1942, in Herman, Minnesota, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Fern Thompson.

Woodrow graduated from Herman High School, then served four years in the United States Navy. He lived in Virginia and West Virginia before moving to Ohio in 1975.

In his retirement, Wood-row enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annis Friel Thompson; children, Rhonda (Dave) Moretz, Kim Brown, Sandi (Dom) Bockmore and Todd (Lesa) Thompson; grandchildren, Lyndsey, Lauren (BJ), Trish (Thom), Nikki, Jarrod, Hannah (Ricky), Nick, Megan, Matt (Rachel), Lexi, Sherman, Briar, Wyatt, Riley and Nate; great-grandchildren, Cole, Carter and Maci; and sisters, Beverly, of Minnesota, and Marcella, of Virginia.

Per his wishes, a graveside service will be held at Cochran Cemetery in Onoto, Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
