Winters Dean

Winters Henry Dean, age 86, of Richwood, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013, at his home.

Born March 31, 1927, along with his twin brother, Summers, on Pyles Mountain, Pocahontas County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Ina Dean.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Vernon, Raymond, Hubert, Leonard, Summers and Ezra; and three sisters, Delena Dunn, Alta Holbrook and Elsie Tacy.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys M. Dean; a son, Gary Dean, and wife, Ann, of Virginia; a daughter, Linda Petry, and husband, Kerry, of California; two brothers, Alfred Dean, Jr., and Elmer Dean, both of Marlinton; two sisters, Grace Combs, of Ona, and Gay Fields, of New Cumberland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was December 9 at Simon-Coleman Funeral Home in Richwood with Rev. Jim Murphy officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Memorial Park in Richwood.
