Cabbage and
Carrot Stir-Fry
1 small cabbage, cut into quarters, sliced very fine
2 small carrots, coarsely grated
1/2 tsp. salt or as needed
Dark sesame oil
In a wok or heavy skillet, brush pan with oil. Mix cabbage and carrots together. Add to hot wok or heavy skillet, sprinkle with salt and sauté for 5-6 minutes until cabbage is bright green and lightly cooked.
Quick Chocolate Cake
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup whole wheat flour
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups water
2 sticks butter
1 cup oil
1/3 cup cocoa
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
In a large bowl, mix sugar and flours together. Set aside. In a medium pot, bring water, butter, oil and cocoa to a boil. Pour into flour mixture and blend. Add beaten eggs, buttermilk and soda and mix well. Pour into 9×13 baking dish and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Icing
1stick butter
1/3 cup milk
Add 1 box (1 pound) powdered sugar
Blend well then add 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts.
