Wanda Blankenship

Wanda Sue Blankenship, age 68, of Marlinton, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born September 7, 1948, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Myrtle Virginia Tyree Pennington.

Wanda was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Vandevender; and three brothers, Ronald Pennington, Jr., James Edward Pennington and George L. Burgess.

She is survived by a special friend, Eddie Hannah, of Marlinton; a daughter, Crystal Blankenship, of Marlinton; three sons, David McLaughlin, of Virginia, and Tim McLaughlin and Daniel McLaughlin, both of Florida; sisters, Helen Pennington Harlow, and husband, Ronald, of Selma, Virginia, Linda Wilson, and husband, Ron, of Mt. City, Tennessee, Kitty Miller, and husband, Buckey, of Marlinton, Susan Castle, of Gordonsville, Virginia, and Vada Boback, and husband, John, of Morgantown; brothers, Billy Pennington, of Burnsville, Tom Pennington, and fiancée, Carol Stevens, of Grafton, and Ethan A. Burgess, and wife, Denise, of Marlinton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held March 26 at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor Richard Wanless officiating. Interment was in the Cochran Cemetery in Onoto.
