Walter Cochran

Walter Lee “Blu” Cochran, 71, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, from complications of coronavirus.

Born August 29, 1948 in Covington, Virginia, he was a son of the late Mary Katherine Rigsby and John Golden Cochran.
Blu was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia “Pat” Cochran and Betty Jane Suttle; and two brothers, Raymond Cochran and Johnny “Sonny” Cochran.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Elijah “Eli” Cochran (Wendy); Eli’s mom Dottie; a special cousin, Brenda Mathews; his dog, Annie; five sisters, Pam Cochran, of Roanoke, Virginia, Shirley Southers (Alfred), and Sandra “Sue” Cochran, both of Troutville, Virginia, Bessie “Midge” Whitt, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, and Carlene Lane (Rick); three brothers, Gary Cochran, of Troutville, Virginia, Michael Cochran and Freddie Cochran (Carolyn), of Buckeye; special grandchildren, Thomas, Brianna and Sierra; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
