Uva Coffman

Uva V. Cooper Coffman, age 92, of Delphi, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Monticello Healthcare Center.

Born July 9, 1925, in Hillsboro, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Berlin and Georgie Moore Cooper.

Uva was a 1944 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed crafts, sewing and reading. She dearly loved her family.

She married Clayton “Buck” Coffman November 15, 1945, in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death July 15, 2014.

Uva and Buck moved from Buckhannon to Delphi, Indiana, in November 1989. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Delphi, Indiana.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna M. Dilley; and two brothers, Clyde Cooper and Lewis Cooper.

She is survived by a brother, James Cooper, and wife, Sandy, of Delphi, Indiana; a sister, Myrtle O’Dell, of Dunbar; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held January 22 at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi, Indiana, with Pastor Michael Harbour officiating. Interment was in Paint Creek Cemetery in Camden.

Memorials may be made to the Wabash & Erie Canal Center.
