Rose, the 15-year-old black bear at Point of View Farm at Beard, gave birth to two cubs January 7. These are her 12th and 13th cubs and all have been born in the enclosure Joel Rosenthal built for her as her “winter abode.” Rose roams the woods spring through fall and always returns to the enclosure around hunting season. Although Rosenthal is usually a welcomed visitor, skunks are not. Rose was quick to put this white one, above, on the run.
