Tony Allen Reynolds, 74, of Hardy, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Born September 14, 1951, he was a son of the late Wallace A. Reynolds and Dorothy Towler Reynolds Redwine.
Tony loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Franklin Heights Church where he attended until his health began to decline and it became difficult to attend. Many thanks for all the love, prayers, cards and visits from our Kingdom Seekers Connect Group who unconditionally loved Tony and continuously prayed for him. Tony’s faith was very important to him. Thank you to family, friends and neighbors who followed Tony through his battle with Alzheimer’s and bought him his favorite snack, M&Ms.
Tony was a HVAC technician and worked for Johnson Controls, Southern Air and retired from the City of Roanoke.
Tony loved the simple things in life. He said many times that the gift of life was a special thing. He loved the mountains, the rivers and looking into the sky and clouds. All the things God created. He loved getting out and walking the trails in the woods; and he loved all animals, especially his best friend and companion, Abby.
Tony chose a life verse for himself, 1 Thes. 4:11 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life; you should mind your own business and work with your hands so your daily life may win the respect of others and so you will not be dependent on anybody.” Tony lived his life this way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Reid Redwine; brother and sister-in-law, Wallace Roger and Norma Jean Reynolds; nephew, Bradley Palmer; brother-in-law, Ken Jones; best friend and companion, Abby.
Tony is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Jones Reynolds; daughter and son-in-law, Melondy Dawn and Richard Phillips; grandchildren, Corey Phillips and Hunter Phillips; sister, Carolyn Poff; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Brian Ulrich; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Marsha Redwine; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at Franklin Heights Church Monday, September 14, 2026.
Interment was in Franklin Memorial Park.
