It may have been a dreary day, but the rain didn’t cancel the Dunmore Daze parade last Saturday. The small festival, which includes a spaghetti dinner, cake walk and square dance, continued through the storm and while the parade may have only had a dozen entries, it still brought a smile to the faces in the crowd. Above, Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps members Homer Hunter and Harold Crist lead the parade and below, former Dunmore Daze King, George Pritchard, rides his 4-wheeler, while showing his patriotism. Also participating in the parade were Bartow-Frank-Durbin, Cass and Hillsboro fire departments, Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Department, Delegate Bill Hartman as well as four brave youngsters on their bicycles.
