Susan Wimer

Susan (Friel) Wimer, age 74, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at White Sulphur Springs Center in White Sulphur Springs.

Born August 23, 1939, at Clawson, she was a daughter of the late Ellis and Florina (Payne) Friel.

Susan was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Ernest “Buck” Defibaugh, Dale Defibaugh and Virgil Ray Friel; sisters, Agnes Jones, Olive Alderman and Bertha Defibaugh; and brothers, Arnold Friel and Odie Friel.

She is survived by her husband, Bill J. Wimer; daughters, Michelle Wimer Masri, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Annie Friel Gildner, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Debbie Wimer, of Buckeye, and Melissa Wimer Steele, of Maidsville; a son, Robert Friel, of Huttonsville; a brother, Olen Friel, of Jesup, Georiga; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Family will receive friends Thursday, June 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home. Funeral service is Friday, June 6, 10 a.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Norman Lee Alderman officiating. Interment will be in the Clawson Cemetery in Clawson.
