Stihl Timbersports Mid-Atlantic Pro Qualifier held at Snowshoe

The top 10 Stihl Timbersportsmen in the country put their skills to the test at the Mid-Atlantic Pro Qualifier Saturday at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

The events included Springboard Chop, Stock Saw, Standing Block Chop, Single Buck, Underhand Chop and Hot Saw. The top five contestants will move on to the final competition which will be held in New York City next week.

Along with the main competition, an open event was held on Sunday. Instead of rank, the competitors were aiming for prize money. First place in each event received $1,000.

Sunday’s competitors included a group with Stihl Australia.

Saturday’s competitors were: Arden Cogar, Jr., of Webster Springs; Jason Lentz, of Diana; Mike Eash, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; David Engasser, of Virgil, New York; David Green, of Bend, Oregon; Eric Hoberg, of Clinton, Montana; Adam LaSalle, of Fairplay, Colorado; Mike Sullivan, of Colebrook, Connecticut; Rob Waibel, of West Linn, Oregon; and Daryl Weakland, of Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Results for the qualifier are below. All times are in seconds.

Springboard Chop

First place, Jason Lentz, 70.62; second place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 73.51; third place, Mike Sullivan, 83.54; fourth place, Adam LaSalle, 85.24; fifth place, Rob Waibel, 91.56; sixth place; Mike Eash, 92.71; seventh place, Daryl Weakland, 109.71; eighth place, Eric Hobert, 143.84; and ninth place, Dave Engasser, 160.26.

Stock Saw

First place, Mike Sullivan, 12.48; second place, Jason Lentz, 12.64; third place, Mike Eash, 12.83; fourth place, Rob Waibel, 12.86; fifth place, David Green, 13.37; sixth place, Adam LaSalle, 13.56; seventh place, Dave Engasser, 13.56; eighth place, Eric Hoberg, 15.35; and ninth place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 22.67.

Standing Block Chop

First place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 20.2; second place, Jason Lentz, 22.61; third place, Adam LaSalle, 24.69; fourth place, Mike Sullivan, 25.56; fifth place, Mike Eash, 27.96; sixth place, David Green, 28.13; seventh place, Daryl Weakland, 29.91; eighth place, Rob Waibel, 33.09; ninth place, Dave Engasser, 34.64; and tenth place, Eric Hobert, 45.96.

Single Buck

First place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 11.43; second place, Jason Lentz, 12.71; third place, Mike Eash, 12.79; fourth place, Adam LaSalle, 12.93; fifth place, Dave Engasser, 13.16; sixth place, Mike Sullivan, 13.26; seventh place, Daryl Weakland, 14.59; eighth place, Rob Waibel, 17.79; ninth place, David Green, 18.21; and tenth place, Eric Hoberg, 28.71

Underhand Chop

First place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 25.08; second place, David Green, 29.84; third place, Mike Eash, 30.11; fourth place, Adam LaSalle, 32.81; fifth place, Jason Lentz, 33; sixth place, Mike Sullivan, 34.23; seventh place, Rob Waibel, 37.6; eight place, Daryl Weakland, 37.83; ninth place, Dave Engasser, 40.13; tenth place, Eric Hoberg, 55.79.

Hot Saw

First place, Mike Sullivan, 7.16; second place, Daryl Weakland, 7.73; third place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 7.84; fourth place, Jason Lentz, 7.97; fifth place, Dave Engasser, 8.21; sixth place, Rob Waibel, 10.58; seventh place, Mike Eash, 11.98; eighth place, David Green, 13.64; and ninth place, Adam LaSalle, 14.02.

First place, Jason Lentz, 50 points; second place, Arden Cogar, Jr., 49 points; third place, Mike Sullivan, 45 points; fourth place, Mike Eash, 39 points; fifth place, Adam LaSalle, 36 points; sixth place, Rob Waibel, 28 points; seventh place, David Green, 25 points; eighth place, Daryl Weakland, 24 points; ninth place, Dave Engasser, 23 points; and tenth place, Eric Hoberg, 9 points.
