Stacey Friel

Stacy Kevin Friel, age 50, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, passed away March 13, 2018, following a short illness.

Stacy was a 1985 graduate of NE Guilford High School and a 1990 graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. He loved his college life, where he played football from 1985 to 1989. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing and all kinds of sports.

He loved his children and his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Nathan Friel; and grandparents, Morris and Flossie Friel and Alfred and Margaret VanReenen.

He is survived by a son, Kevin Friel, of Concord, North Carolina; daughter, Victoria Friel, of Concord, North Carolina; mother, Pat VanReenen Friel; and a brother, Steven Friel, and family, of Brown Summit, North Carolina.
