Spring has sprung on the farm of Nate Dean and Luci Mosesso in Buckeye. Two of their Katahdin sheep gave birth to twins. The two black sheep are named Candy and Randy, and the other pair are Mike and Ike. They are shown above with their caretaker, Nikki. Luci said the only female of the four, Candy, was named for Candy Sharp, who walks by the house every day. Sharp told Luci if the twins were born on her birthday, they should name one after her. One set of twins obliged.
The family of four, including six-year-old Silas and three-year-old Victor, moved back to Luci’s homeplace in July and are happy to be a farming family. The boys love to help with the lambs, sheep, chickens and are excited that they will soon be adding pigs to their livestock. At left, Silas and Victor ride their toy John Deere gator back to the house after visiting the lambs. S. Stewart photos
