Chester Lee Blanchard passed away peacefully Friday, March 17, 2017, following a long illness.

Born June 6, 1944, Chester spent his first 18 years in Cass. Following graduation from Green Bank High School, he joined the United States Army in 1962.

He was in the 101st Airborne Special Forces and was a Green Beret. He became a disabled Army Veteran after being shot in Vietnam in 1966.

Chester always tried to live as much of a full life as possible.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn L. Blanchard; children, Stacey Lynn Blanchard, of Connecticut, and Lance Michael Blanchard, of Oregon; and a daughter-in-law, Angie.

Chester will be missed by his family and friends.

Per his request, the body was cremated, and no service will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in memory of Chester; or to a charity of your choice.
