Pocahontas County High School sophomore Dewayne Lambert was selected by the staff as December student of the month.
A young man of few words, Lambert said he was surprised when he was informed of the nomination.
“I was shocked and amazed at the same time, especially when Mr. Adkins called me to his office,” Lambert said.
Lambert is a member of FFA and the baseball team. Although he is only a sophomore, Lambert has plans for after high school.
“I plan on going into the military and serve several years,” he said. “Then, I’ll go to a technical school to be an automotive mechanic.”
In his second year as a Warrior, Lambert knows the importance of a balanced high school career.
“Being a Warrior is having fun with friends and learning at the same time,” he said.
