Sondra Bee Cochran, 78, of Marlinton, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 26, 2024, while a resident at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.
Born September 26, 1945, at Elkins, she was a daughter of the late Jefferson William Nelson and Grace Harper Nelson.
Sondra was a 1963 graduate of Marlinton High School and a graduate of Marshall University. She had worked in the Pocahontas County Assessor’s Office and was a member of the Marlinton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, playing musical instruments and working with flowers.
On January 22, 1966, she married Harold Lee Coch-ran, Jr., who preceded her in death January 26, 2022.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Nelson and Robert Nelson.
She is survived by her daughter, Misty Lea Coch-ran, of Marlinton; sister, Barbara Jean Shaw (Norman), of Edray; brother, Harper Nelson (friend, Nancy), of Marlinton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Lee Bailey officiating.
