A snowstorm barreled into Pocahontas County on the day before Thanksgiving, depositing up to eight inches of heavy, wet snow. Electrical service was disrupted in most of the county starting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and lasting for nearly 11 hours. Monongahela Power restored service to most county households about 8 p.m. Wednesday evening. Several traffic accidents resulted from snow-covered roads. Warmer weather is forecast for the weekend, with temperatures expected to be in the 50s in Marlinton on Sunday.
